Purpose of Position

Coordinates the receiving and processing of all inbound freight, warehouse changes and make adjustments. Position reports to Depot Manager and Supervisors.

Essential Job Functions

Work directly with the Depot Manager, Depot Supervisor and Cross Dock Supervisor in coordinating the receiving and processing of all inbound freight; supervise, guide, and direct leads and warehouse personnel to ensure all inbound freight is offloaded, processed, sorted, palletized and loaded in a timely manner; inspect pallet quality to reduce damages and miss-routed packages; communicate with managers, leads, and package handlers; coordinate warehouse changes and make adjustments as needed; assist with training new personnel as well as review current/new procedures with staff; estimate pallets weights prior to loading to ensure trucks are below GVWR requirements; communicate with inbound drivers to estimate volumes, assign dock doors, and ensure timely arrivals to the office; perform other related duties as required. The Cross Dock Operations Coordinator is also expected to meet performance standards set by management and to comply with all company policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment:

Characteristics are relatively stable and frequently wet and/or humid. Maybe exposed to fumes, airborne particles, extreme heat and vibrations. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be detail oriented, organized, and possess good communication skills. Have knowledge of major cities and zip codes in the states of operation, preferred. Forklift, pallet truck, and pallet jack experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to speak, read and interpret documents printed in English such as policies and procedures, freight bills, bills of lading, computer reports and printouts, invoices, and work orders. Ability to write in English routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate verbally and via email.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Possess the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding and to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must have a pleasant, positive personality and the ability to get along well with supervisors, dispatchers, customers, and co-workers. Must project a clean cut, well-groomed appearance always.
