Requirements

Job Summary

The role provides support to the Operations, Line Haul, Engineering, and IT departments through implementation plans associated with volume growth and footprint expansions. Engage all stakeholders in the planning process of expansion to ensure that all resources and processes are accounted for seamless execution of productivity, cost containment, and service requirements. Plans, establishes, and executes business objective to meet all operational goals for the network. Ensures through collaboration with cross-functional departments that customers' expectations are met daily and long-term.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, executing, and monitoring business objectives to ensure attainment of operational performance objectives.
  • Collaborates with Region staff to implement improvement strategies relating to growth and efficiency plans while providing guidance to best practices within the network.
  • Monitors, analyses, and influences depot operations, line haul, and TPC Relations metrics including costs, production, pick up & delivery performance, and objectives.
  • Recommend modifications to operating policies as it relates to changes of local and federal guidelines including safety measures, practices, and procedures.
  • Conducts training with appropriate personnel that include best management practices, processes, and administration to support the stand up of new depots and territories.
  • Evaluates cost with field and line haul engineering to justify all expansions and relocations and serve as knowledge expert in the vetting process.
  • Supports Peak planning and implementation with field management and staff including the development of proactive action plans to best serve the customer and address contingencies.
  • Analyses dock operations and provide solutions to support both Inbound and Outbound operation and the transportation line haul network.
  • Oversees corporate initiative roll outs, develops improvement strategies, and monitors progress of implementation plan to insure flawless execution.
  • Develop relationships with vendors to help resolve problems and serves as liaison between contractor and vendor.
  • Serve as knowledge experts with influencing depot management in adhering to budget requirements, ensuring internal compliance, containing employee turnover, and implementing policies and programs as necessary to be compliant with local, state, and federal government laws.
  • Leads and collaborate in company marketing and sales efforts as directed to expand into new markets and communicates plan to field personnel in order to successfully service the customers.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Presentation skills necessary to facilitate training and/or deliver informational sessions to groups and/or individuals including third-party carriers.
  • Time management and organizational skills necessary to manage/execute multiple projects, appropriately prioritize workloads, and plan for resources to meet deadlines and company goals/objectives.
  • Experience working in the Logistics, Trucking, Brokerage, Parcel, or other industry that utilizes purchased transportation as a primary means of service.
  • Verbal and written communication skills necessary to explain complex and/or confidential information including disseminating agreements related to third-party carriers.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office with some experience in specialized logistics industry software and publications.
  • Ability to stay educated and informed about trends within the Logistics and Transportation industries and apply that knowledge tactically in mentoring others in the execution of company objectives and goals.

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, Human Factors Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or related field required.

Qualification & Experience

Seven or more (7) years of experience in Transportation, Line Haul, Industrial Engineering or similar role in logistics environment Preferred
